Breeding Bird Survey

During April - July the countryside ranger is undertaking a survey of Skylark and Meadow Pipit on Spike Island, the large sand dune. This is to see how many nest there, and what, perhaps can be done to improve their lot.

A simple step we can all take to help, is to make sure that at this time, we stick to paths. If you have a dog too, it is all the more important to make sure it is kept on a lead in this area, to allow the ground nesting birds a chance to rear their young safely.
