By Bus;

First Bus operate services to and from Edinburgh and Dunbar - numbers X6 and X8. The service is often a limited stop service, the nearest bus stop  being at West Barns Bowling Club. From there take the lane nearby (Sea Road) down past a river - the Biel Burn - and into Belhaven Bay.

By Train;

Occasional mainline trains stop at Dunbar station. From there it is a 2.5km walk to the bay. Please contact National rail enquiries on 08457 48 49 50 for train times.

By car;

From the Edinburgh direction, stay on the A1 until you reach the Thistly Cross roundabout. Then take the L turn down to a second roundabout, where you then turn R along the A1087 (signposted to Dunbar). After 1km turn L down a road signposted John Muir Country Park. The road is single track with speed bumps so take care. Follow the road riound to the R (past the Farm Park) and into the car park at Linfield Links. From there Belhaven Bay is a 5-10 minute walk.

From the Berwick-upon-Tweed direction, stay on the A1 also, until you reach the Beltonford roundabout. Then take th R exit, down to a second roundabout, whereafter you folow directions as above.
